The papers consist of a manuscript of "Rough rhymes of a farmer, a souvenir..." by W.H. Snowden; a tax receipt and two letters to Anna Reaves Heath Lassiter; one letter from John Francis Heath, Petersburg, Va., 1856 December 19, discussing the slave, William; and another from Heath, with envelope, 1865 April 19, describing conditions in Richmond ten days after Appomattox. Also include a letter from a Confederate soldier, 1861 July 26, Centreville, Va., to his sister describing the camp and the Washington Louisiana Artillery involvement at the Battle of Bull Run.
